Apply correctly! Tip 5: Stand out from the gray masses!

back

Show your colors and show what you're made of. Creativity and a healthy dose of self-confidence are definitely allowed. So make it clear how and where you differ from other competitors. After all, your future employer doesn't want to find just any employee, but the best - you!

"Why should we hire you in particular?"

You have applied for an advertised position. But you are not alone in this and the other person will probably have a series of interviews. That's why it's important for an employer to recognize the advantages and differences between individual applicants. And you need to actively communicate these benefits - your advantages and your special skills - to your boss.

Good preparation is important.

Therefore, concentrate on your own strengths. What skills distinguish you and what knowledge and experience can you contribute to the new company? Read the advertisement carefully beforehand: What skills and experience is the company looking for? Which of these do you cover and which do you still need to learn? Be aware of what your best arguments are and use them specifically in the interview. Be open about what you still need to acquire, but also want to.

Example: "For your position, you need someone with many years of experience in long-term care and management experience. In addition, I have already worked in a dementia ward with my current employer and am familiar with the requirements of such a ward and its staff. I am therefore aware of what I need to pay attention to when setting up the new ward with you. Although I have worked with other care documentation, I would like to learn how to do this and would be prepared to attend appropriate training courses. "
